Barry Dibble –
This fitted easily to an Invacare Azalea Minor wheelchair with tilting system, and did not impair any of the functions of the standard chair. The right side brake handle was moved back by 4cm and through 90 degrees but otherwise worked well. Fitting the Powerstroll S Drive was relatively simple, although the supplied instructions are worse than useless. There are a number of video instructions on YouTube though but TBH it’s easy with basic mechanical skills. The drive unit had to be mounted further towards the rear than I would have liked but it doesn’t really get in the way when using.
Manoeuvrability in confined spaces is very poor with the Powerstroll in its lowered position but raising the motor unit so the wheels are off the floor enabled normal movement indoors, albeit a little heavier. When on level ground on the highest speed I found I had to jog to keep up with the wheelchair but it’s easy to adjust to a slower speed.
